Description From Sudara
Items received will not be exactly what you see pictured, but will be in the color family of your choosing, because like a snowflake, each Sari Bari item is unique with it’s up-cycled sari fabric construction- so you get a one of a kind piece of freedom each time!
Sunset Fire Series colors include shades of red, orange, and yellow and variations on those colors. They are called warm colors because they evoke a feeling of sunlight and fire — things that are warm.
Sudara is partnering with fellow do-good brand, Sari Bari, to offer a curated collection of home goods and bags. Together, we are employing and training even more women who are at a high risk or survivors of sex trafficking.
Sammana means dignity in Bengali and that’s exactly what this bag represents! We think this tote is pretty special, created with two saris, adding a little more color and texture (as if there was not enough). It’s got a wide body, big enough to carry everything you need for the day, including your laptop. Plus, it’s created with sturdy 100% cotton canvas, double organizer pockets, a zipper pocket to secure your valuables, magnetic button closure and durable woven cotton shoulder straps, with brass rivets on the handles.
Hand-stitched by Sari Bari Artisans and machine finished by another skilled woman who now has freedom, on the industrial sewing machine—undoubtedly, it’s got Heroic potential! Hand wash separately in cold water, tumble dry low.

Changing the world through pajamas—we can get behind that! Sudara began in 2006 when founder Shannon took a trip to India and saw the realities of the sex trade in the developing world. Since lack of education and employment among women are some of the main factors that contribute to sex trafficking, Sudara taught at-risk women to make comfy jammies with some of the funnest prints you've ever seen. Today, their line includes ethically-made men's, women's, and children's sleepwear, loungewear, and versatile athleisure wear. To make their products even more special, each Sudara design is named after a real woman who works in the sewing center where it is made. But Sudara knows that employment and living wages alone aren't enough to break the cycles of human trafficking and poverty. That's why their non-profit, the Sudara Freedom Fund, works to equip and empower both employees and their children with education, housing, and microloans.
