Description From Sudara
Sudara is partnering with fellow do-good brand, Loyal Workshop, to offer a curated collection of leather goods. Together, we are employing and training even more women who are at a high risk or survivors of sex trafficking.
Adventure awaits. This ethically-made, hand-stitched leather satchel is a go-anywhere traveling companion. Durability to accompany the adventurous traveller on the dusty trail with cargo of camera, journal and matches. Enduring simplicity to double as a work-horse, carrying your daily work essentials.
LEATHER - Bag Chassis 2.2mm full veg-tanned cow leather produced using a unique eco-tanning technique; tough, resilient sturdy, and ethical. Straps 2.6mm & 3mm buffalo leather; heavy, durable and stretch resistant.
The Leather has been chosen for its strength and durability but also for its natural full grain look. The veg-tanning process allows the full character of the leather to be exposed, honestly displaying the patina accumulated over a lifetime already lived. In its second lifetime as a Loyal satchel, it will darken slightly and develop more character. This heavy stiff leather has the substance to protect your cargo and maintains its shape.
HARDWARE - Naked, polished stainless steel roller buckles and rivets; sturdy and tarnish resistant.
THREAD - Hand stitched .8mm Gauge woven polyester; super resilient, stretch proof and UV resistant.
Changing the world through pajamas—we can get behind that! Sudara began in 2006 when founder Shannon took a trip to India and saw the realities of the sex trade in the developing world. Since lack of education and employment among women are some of the main factors that contribute to sex trafficking, Sudara taught at-risk women to make comfy jammies with some of the funnest prints you've ever seen. Today, their line includes ethically-made men's, women's, and children's sleepwear, loungewear, and versatile athleisure wear. To make their products even more special, each Sudara design is named after a real woman who works in the sewing center where it is made. But Sudara knows that employment and living wages alone aren't enough to break the cycles of human trafficking and poverty. That's why their non-profit, the Sudara Freedom Fund, works to equip and empower both employees and their children with education, housing, and microloans.
