Description From Ceremonia
These beautiful coasters are hand embroidered in Oaxaca using the prehispanic waist loom technique. we work with a group of Indigenous women whose families have been making these crafts across multiple generations. many of the families also dye their own threads using plants, flowers, and other natural materials. once the threads are ready, each individual thread is assembled and tightened on the waist loom. then, they interlace layers of colorful threads to create the various geometric patterns embroidered on the coasters.
Add a splash of color to your tablescape with these embroidered coaster sets. they're great for hosting, events and other special celebrations!
- materials used: 100% cotton, plant, and natural dies for the thread color
- each coaster is approx. 4" x 4", packed in bundles of 4
- care instructions: spot clean, or gently wash by hand
- due to the handmade nature of this item, slight imperfections should be celebrated
