Description From Kyrgies

Bath. Beach. Bella.

Add ethical elegance to your bathtime experience with the cotton Turkish peshtemal bath sheets. Available in a range of sumptuous colors and patterns, these towels will turn the surroundings in your home from drab to fab. With its roots in 18th-century Turkey, the peshtemal or hammam is a cultural staple throughout the Mediterranean that is commonly used in Turkish public baths and prized for its stunning craftsmanship and versatility.

But the real reason they’re the bath towel of choice is down to the way they’re flat-woven from long cotton fibers, which makes the yarn soft and durable. As a result, they’re thinner than regular towels but even more absorbent. This lightweight design allows them to air dry quickly and pack efficiently, ensuring they’re as nimble at the beach or as travel towels as they are in your home. With their luxe colors and patterns, the peshtemals can also double as shawls or scarves.

While we’re guaranteed you’ll fall head over heels in love with your new Turkish cotton towel, it will take a little getting used to. Wash your new towel a couple of times before use to open up the cotton fibers, which will make it the soft and absorbent towel of your dreams. Even better, because of their luxurious cotton, Turkish towels will actually become softer and fluffier with each wash. Magic!

Each towel measures 37 x 69 inches and weighs 11 ounces a piece.

I heard that your Turkish peshtemal towels are good for the environment and good for me. Is that right?

We source the peshtemals from a family-owned factory in Denizli in Turkey, where they are machine loomed for a consistently high-quality finish — and consistent satisfaction from you.

We’re concerned about what goes into the manufacturing process and the bodies, so only cotton certified according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is used in these towels. This industry-leading credential is only given to textiles that have been tested and proven free of chemicals that could be harmful to your health — so there’s no worrying about what’s inside.

But the commitment to you doesn’t stop there: you can also rely on us to be environmentally low-impact, too. We offset all of the carbon emissions through the work with Climate Neutral and are committed members of 1% of the Planet and One Tree Planted, two organizations that help us — thanks to your purchases — to give back to the Earth.
