This scarf is all about the weft. That's the threads that go from side to side on the weave. Can you see the subtle transparent "stripes" in the bronze? It's made by skipping some rows in the weft and highlighting the vertical threads, aka the warp. It gives this scarf its pliable texture while the cotton fibers keep it soft. The indigo marble pair of stripes run vertically the length of the scarf to give it some grounding and to highlight the marbling tradition in Guatemalan textiles.
